Born and raised in Petaluma, Don Ross undoubtedly understands what makes Petaluma such a unique and colorful town. After all, he comes from a family that, for the past five generations, has called Petaluma home.

"My family was involved in blacksmithing, farm and industrial equipment," said Ross of his family's early trades. In fact, prior to the blacksmithing business, William Zartman, one of Ross' ancestors, was one of Petaluma's first settlers. His store was originally next door to the American Hotel, a landmark to many of Petaluma's early citizens.

Today, running Papyrus is much different than the blacksmithing shops of Ross' family past, but in many ways Don Ross carries on the traditions of good and valuable service. "My vision is that people visiting our store will leave in better spirits than they were when they walked in. It is very crucial that my focus would be on the customer and upgrading their spirits."
