Saturday, August 16, 1997
9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Come join the fun along the Petaluma River at the turning basin in downtown Petaluma. Enjoy a tour of the Alma, an 1891 scow schooner on loan from the National Maritime Museum and join the sea-chantey sing-alongs with National Park Rangers. Watch the raft and canoe races. See the Petaluma Queen, a 101 foot sternwheeler paddle boat. Visit the 150 booths of foods, arts, and crafts. Listen to the live country, blues, rock, and folk music appearing on two stages from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The River Festival is a non-profit event to raise funds to protect and enhance the Petaluma River, promote public appreciation of the natural and historical aspects of the river and to promote development of the river consistent with the current and historical uses of the river.

There is a $3 requested donation for adults for the event. All kids are free. And the 7-11 Lions Club will be serving breakfast in Walnut Park at 8 a.m. for $4 for adults, $3 for kids and seniors.
