Architecture This Second Empire ironfront was begun in 1871. A two story wing was constructed to the south in 1878. A third floor and mansard roof were added, and the existing building to the north purchased in 1909. In 1926, the south wing was removed and the north wing unified architecturally. The evidence of that remodeling, unfortunately, is currently hidden under 1950's plywood and concrete sheathing.
