History The Cosmopolitan Hotel was one of four large hotels in the original layout of Petaluma. The large number of hotel rooms available in the town accomodated the boom of miners and farmers who used Petaluma as their main point of entry into California. For decades, ships brought cargo loads of people in, agricultural and manufactured goods out.
