History Now called the Great Petaluma Mill, this collection of commercial buildings is among the oldest still standing in the city. One of the wooden buildings, now a café, was the depot for the Haystack Railroad. The stone building was erected in the mid-1850's, and, after 1902, became a warehouse for John McNear's grain mill, the larger wooden building with the metal silos on the roof.
