Movies Petalumans have soft spots in their hearts for poultry of all kinds, and so they welcomed the makers of "Howard the Duck", a movie which stars a hero of the feathered persuasion. This is the spot from which Howard escaped the police in an ultralight. The pursuing squad car actually plunged into the river where the west end of the footbridge is now located. Scenes from "Explorers" were also filmed at this location.
